Events

I am scheduled to teach a new course I designed in creative writing for beginners at Ryerson University in Toronto in 2010 and 2011. It's about writing as a playground, and is designed to generate raw material for beginning writers. This course is being targeted to health professionals. The course code is CWWR525 and is being held evenings on Tuesdays in the fall, and Wednesday evenings in the winter term.
And it’s about writing for the pure fun of it!

The Creativity Writing Workshop

I host creative writing marathons in Toronto. Think of it like playful cross training.
This workshop is designed as way to give writers a portable toolbox of exercises. You can be a newbie or a veteran. Exercises will range from artist dates, freefall prompts, eavesdropping, observation walks, to games and drills. You don't have to be a professional writer, and you don't need a treadmill to get in! It's a way of taking your imagination to the gym.

All participants will emerge with fresh material for future crafting, as well as a toolbox of exercises for future practice.

For details, e-mail Lesley Simpson and label your query Writing Workshop. Workshops are offered quarterly on Sundays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the day includes a mouth watering vegetarian lunch. If you’re not satisfied your money will be returned with no questions asked. Fee: $100. Workshops can also be organized for private groups (minimum of eight people required.) The workshop will be capped at 12 people.
